Positive Self Image Results in Positive Experiences

positive business woman
Projecting a confident positive attitude and self-image results in positive experiences. Negativity yields more of the same, often setting you up for failure.  If you want to succeed you must cultivate a positive attitude, be clearly motivated, balance your energy and be willing to work hard.  In his book “The Power of Positive Thinking In Business”, Scott W. Ventrella interviews Horst Schulze, CEO of the award winning Ritz Carlton.  He asks Mr. Schultz what business concepts he believed were the most important contributors to the prestigious success of the Ritz Carlton.  Without hesitation Mr. Schultz responded, “People!  Having motivated, energetic, hardworking people with great attitudes. That is the single most important factor.”

Honing your skills in these areas will serve as a cornerstone to your success:

Confidence is an important ingredient to achieving success.  You first need to develop a positive attitude towards yourself and others. Project a confident style through a positive belief system and thought process.  Attitude creates the way you feel and how you choose to act.  Even if you don’t feel confident act as if you are, acting “as if’ creates a habit, and a pattern, soon you will actually become more confident.

You communicate through more than just your words. Regardless of the words you choose people will believe your body language and the energetic dynamics they perceive. Maintain an open posture, make genuine eye contact, and have a warm smile to increase your positive appearance.  Posture and bearing have a great importance in how you project self-confidence.

Your physical expression and the sound of your voice communicate volumes about you to others. Work toward improving the quality of your voice to project a confident image and to communicate clearly.  Use appropriate gestures and facial expression to communicate your ideas more effectively.  Your passion and enthusiasm will contribute greatly to your credibility and truly engage others.

Motivation is fueled by what we feel and believe.  Fear and anxiety block the flow of motivation.  Releasing tension puts you in command of yourself.  Your power is found in the stillness you are able to maintain in any given situation.  Learn to manage the harmful effects of stress and anxiety.   Through the proper use of breath, focus and relaxation you will feel positive and be powerful.

Realize the areas you would benefit from improving, where do you lack confidence or positive thoughts.  Set a goal, seek help, and choose to believe in yourself.  Begin now to live a positive successful life.  Remember, it is through positive self-talk and confident thinking we literally can change our lives.  Affirm and know that you are a positive person that can make great things happen.
